Ingredients:
8 beef hot dogs
8 hot dog buns
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef (halal)
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 cup beef broth (halal)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced jalapeƱos (optional)
Mustard and diced onions for topping
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add beef broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
Grill or pan-fry hot dogs until nicely browned.
Place hot dogs in buns, top each with chili, a generous amount of cheddar cheese, and optional jalapeƱos.
Serve with mustard and additional diced onions if desired.
