Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, tips removed, drumettes and flats separated
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/4 cup butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
Directions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken wings in a separate bowl and pour the buttermilk over them, ensuring each piece is coated. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the wings from the buttermilk and dredge them in the flour mixture until they are completely coated.
- Fry the wings in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan, until they are golden brown and crispy, about 10 minutes per side.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the hot sauce, honey, and vinegar, and stir to combine.
- Toss the fried wings in the sauce until they are well coated.
- Serve hot.
