Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Cook the beef and onions:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped onion and ground beef until the meat is browned and the onion is soft (about 7–10 minutes). Drain any excess grease.
3. Season the beef mixture:
Stir in salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder to taste.
4. Layer the beef:
Pour the beef and onion mixture into a greased 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle the grated Cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
5. Mix the batter:
In a bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour this over the beef and cheese in the pie plate.
6. Bake:
Place in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Cool and serve:
Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with ketchup, mustard, or even pickles on the side for a true cheeseburger vibe!
