French Toast

Ingredients:
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 slices stale bread
2 teaspoons butter (to grease the skillet or griddle)

Instructions:
Prepare the Batter:
In a bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
Preheat and Grease the Skillet:
Melt the butter in a warmed skillet, ensuring the bottom is fully covered with the melted butter.
Dip the Bread:
-Quickly dip each slice of stale bread into the egg mixture. Do not soak, simply dip and remove.
Cook the French Toast
Place the dipped bread slices in the preheated skillet or on a griddle.
Cook until the underside is browned, which should take about 1-2 minutes.
Use a spatula to flip the bread over and cook the other side until browned.
Serve the French toast immediately, ideally with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruits, or whipped cream.
