Sumac Onions



Ingredients:


2 large red onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons sumac
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)


Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced red onions with the sumac, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and sugar.
Toss the onions thoroughly until they are well coated with the sumac and other ingredients.
Let the mixture sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving for a fresh touch.
