Junk Yard Salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand)
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1 package (1 oz) vanilla pudding mix (dry)
  • 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cherry pie filling, crushed pineapple, sweetened condensed milk, miniature marshmallows, and dry vanilla pudding mix. Stir until well combined.
  2. Gently fold in the Cool Whip until evenly incorporated into the mixture.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the salad to an airtight container.
  4. Refrigerate the salad overnight or for at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to set.
  5. Before serving, give the salad a gentle stir to ensure everything is well combined.

Recipe Tips:

  • For a slightly less sweet version, you can reduce the amount of cherry pie filling or omit the additional sugar in the recipe.
  • You can also experiment with using different flavors of pudding mix or adding nuts or shredded coconut for extra texture and flavor.

Enjoy this delightful and easy-to-make Junk Yard Salad as a sweet and satisfying dessert or side dish!
