Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- Cooking spray or melted butter, for greasing ramekins
- Optional: vanilla ice cream and fresh berries for serving
- Directions:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, egg, and egg yolk until well combined.
- Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
- Stir in the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Generously grease two ramekins with cooking spray or melted butter.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared ramekins.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the filled ramekins in the air fryer basket and cook for 7-9 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Carefully remove the ramekins from the air fryer using oven mitts.
- Let the lava cakes cool for a few minutes before running a knife around the edges and inverting them onto serving plates.
- Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh berries, if desired.
