Country Fried Steak Recipe With Gravy

Ingredients:

2 8-ounce Cube Steaks
2 Eggs
1 1/2 cups Buttermilk
1 cup Flour
Vegetable Oil for frying
1 cup Whole Milk
3 tablespoons Pan Drippings from steak

Directions:

. Marinate the Steaks: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper. Soak the cube steaks in this mixture for 20 minutes, then carefully remove, letting the excess drip off.

. Dredge with Flour: Season the flour generously with salt and pepper. Dredge each steak in the flour mixture, ensuring a full and even coating.

. Fry to Perfection: Pour enough vegetable oil into a large, heavy skillet to reach about 1/2-inch depth. Heat over medium-high until hot. Fry the steaks for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until they achieve a golden brown and crispy exterior. Transfer the cooked steaks to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.

. Make the Gravy: Discard the oil, reserving about 3 tablespoons of the pan drippings in the skillet. Over low heat, gradually whisk in the whole milk, stirring continuously until the gravy thickens to your liking. Season the gravy liberally with salt and a generous amount of coarsely-ground black pepper.

. Serve with Love: Arrange the fried cube steaks on plates and lavishly pour the buttermilk gravy over them. Serve immediately, and watch as this Southern delight brings smiles to the table.
