⏲️ Rise Time: 1.5–2 hours
🔥 Bake Time: 15–20 minutes
🍽️ Makes: 8–10 rolls

📋 Ingredients
With dairy:
3 cups (375g) all-purpose or bread flour

1 tbsp sugar (optional)

1 tsp salt

2¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast

1 cup (240ml) warm milk (or water for dairy-free)

2 tbsp melted butter or oil (or dairy-free alternative)

For eggless: Omit eggs. Still soft and fluffy if well-risen.
Optional topping:
A little milk or oil for brushing

Sesame or poppy seeds

🧑‍🍳 Instructions
1. Make the dough
In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

Add warm milk (or water) and melted butter/oil.

Mix into a sticky dough, then knead (by hand or mixer) for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

2. Let it rise
Cover and let dough rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

3. Shape the rolls
Punch down the dough. Divide into 8–10 equal portions.

Shape into smooth balls and place on a greased or lined baking tray, spaced slightly apart.

4. Final rise
Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes, until puffy.

5. Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Optional: Brush tops with milk or oil for a golden crust.

Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until tops are golden and rolls sound hollow when tapped.

6. Cool
Let cool slightly before serving. Best warm, fresh, or lightly toasted.

🧁 Variations
Add herbs or garlic powder to the dough for savory rolls.

Stuff with cheese or sautéed onions before shaping.

For sweeter rolls, increase sugar to 3 tbsp and brush with honey butter after baking.
