Brandon Johnson, a Facebook user, kindly posted his recipe for “Navajo Flatbread,” which resembles naan bread. This recipe only needs a few basic ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen, and it is very easy to prepare.

You will require:

2 cups of flour

1 and 1/4 cups of warm water

1 tablespoon of baking powder

1 teaspoon of coarse salt

1 spoonful of oil, butter, or shortening

Instructions:

First, combine the dry ingredients and then pour in most of the water. Blend together. Pour the remaining water little by little while stirring, until the mixture becomes similar to sticky pizza dough.

Step 2: Work the dough with your hands for a few minutes.

Step 3: Allow the dough to sit in a bowl with oil for 30 to 60 minutes.

Step 4: Cut the dough into six parts and flatten each piece thinly on a surface with flour (similar to the thickness of tortillas).

Step 5: Preheat the griddle or a skillet to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 6: Cook until the surface turns golden brown, then turn it over and cook the other side.

In addition to being very easy, this recipe also freezes nicely. It is very inexpensive to make and is an easy way to bake bread when you don’t have any available in stores. Don’t forget, we are all in this as a team. Look after yourself and each other.
