Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stove, and add it to the mashed bananas. Mix well.
Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the sour cream or yogurt until the batter is smooth.
If desired, fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
